Tragedy has struck. This time a COVID-19 positive patient today committed suicide in the Isolation Ward of the Sadar hospital, Lohardaga. He was a migrant worker who had returned home from Mumbai on May 24.

After his medical test, he was declared COVID-19 positive. Sadly enough, the report of his blood test dated May 27 was still awaited. He is suspected to have committed suicide on depression.

Another sad incident took a 69-year old woman from Phusro, Bokaro who had suffered from a head injury was admitted at RIMS hospital in Ranchi. After the test was conducted, she was declared COVID-19 positive and shifted to its COVID-19 ward on June 5. She died on Monday.  

The number of deaths caused by COVID-19 in Jharkhand has shot up to the double digit-10. Even the number of COVID-19 cases in this state has risen to 1,330 with 187 new infections reported, according to the state government's bulletin on Tuesday.

As per this bulletin,187 COVID-19 cases were reported on Monday, the highest single-day spike in coronavirus infection since the outbreak of the pandemic on March 31, taking the state's tally to 1,330.
