The Supreme Court today granted interim bail for two months to Pooja Singhal,the accused in Rs 18 crore MNREGA scam in Khunti and money laundering case.

This means Singhal, suspended IAS officer, will remain out of jail for two more months.

Earlier,Singhal, who was undergoing imprisonment in Hotwar jail in Ranchi, was granted one- month interim bail by the SC last month.

Responding to her plea seeking grant of bail in MNREGA scam case involving money laundering of crores of rupees, the SC had fixed February 6 to hear her case.

On the same date, the ED had sought time to submit reply.Today, the SC heard the arguments and counter arguments of the ED and petitioner Singhal and decided to extend her interim bail for the next two months.
