The jharkhand government appears to be in an alert mode in view of rising cases of Covid. The state Health Minister Banna Gupta has appealed to the Centre to provide at least 50,000 Covid-19 vaccine doses.

His aim was to continue with the immunization drive in the state. However, no administrative effort was visible to figure out the COVID-affected areas in the state.

Aware of the sudden rise in COVID-positive cases, some conscientious citizens have been spotted wearing masks in public places in Ranchi.

The information gained from corridors of power showed that the Minister had raised the issue at a review meeting chaired by Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on April 7.

"Jharkhand has run out of Covid vaccine doses. We had sent a request to provide at least 50,000 doses to the state two weeks back but its arrival is still awaited," he said.
