This engineer calls it a device to enhance the storage capacity of energy. He, who had first gained recognition from former President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, in 2004 for his ‘Weather Control System’ concept, is a mechanical engineer and administrator of Vivekananda International School, Jamshedpur.

Saumya Deep, a mechanical engineer and administrator of Vivekananda International School. Deep latest achievement, he claims, is a significant enhancement in the efficiency and storage capacity of Flywheel Energy Storage Systems (FESS).

This innovation, patented on June 19, 2024, at the Boudhik Sampada Bhavan in Kolkata and published in the National Official Journal of the Patent Office on July 5, 2024, is titled “A Process to Make Over Unity Efficiency Flywheel.”

Flywheel Energy Storage Systems are mechanical devices that store energy in the form of rotational kinetic energy, and they hold great promise for providing efficient large-scale energy storage solutions, crucial for maximizing the benefits of renewable energy.

These systems store energy from renewable sources and supply it when those sources are not available. Saumya claimed that his new process dramatically improved the energy storage capacity and output efficiency of flywheels.

He asserted that his process allowed flywheels to achieve ‘Over Unity Efficiency,’ where the output energy exceeded the input energy, a claim that challenges the second law of thermodynamics. If proven, this could lead to unlimited free and green energy, representing a major advancement for humanity.

The publication of this process marked a significant milestone. Saumya is currently working to translate his mathematical proof into practical and commercially viable machines.

He is seeking collaboration with leading academic institutions to further this development. However, due to intellectual property protocols, specific details of the patent cannot be disclosed publicly.
